Like most of the rest of the world, I recently binge-watched all of Netflix’s new Addams Family show, Wednesday, in one weekend. I was absolutely obsessed: not only is the show extremely well-done, but Jenna Ortega as Wednesday is one of the best acting performances I’ve seen in a very long time.
I loved everything about the show—from the fun storyline to the nostalgia of the iconic Addams Family—but one thing that really stood out to me was the wardrobe. Wednesday’s style is so recognizable through the many iterations of the Addams Family universe, but this version updates her void-of-color look for 2022.
With collared blouses, timeless black dresses, and fun patterns like checkerboard and stripes, Wednesday’s style in this show is actually wearable for everyday. Of course, you could mix these pieces with denim or color, but drawing inspiration from her monochromatic wardrobe is definitely doable. With 2012-2014 Tumblr-era style on the rise again, it’s only fitting that Wednesday’s soft goth look makes it’s way into our closets.
