Over the weekend, tributes were paid to two retired North Wales Police Dogs who died lately. PD Barney, a dedicated Springer Spaniel, departed from the North Wales Police Dog Section in 2017, after six years of service.
A spokeswoman for the Cheshire and North Wales Police Alliance Dog Division said that they were sad to announce the passing of retired PD Barney at the age of age 13. Barney served in the North Wales Police Dog Section from 2011 until his retirement in 2017. After fulfilling his service, he was given the finest retirement he could have wished for by a fantastic, loving family who will miss him greatly. All of Barney’s well-wishers wished him a peaceful after life now that his duty is done.
Taff, a retired police dog, died on Sunday, according to the Cheshire and North Wales Police Alliance Dog Division. Taff was a 13-and-a-half-year-old Springer Spaniel who had retired in 2015. He was later retrained as a therapy dog and aided in the fundraising efforts for the Paws Off Duty organisation.
Taff retired from the North Wales Police Force in 2015, and was subsequently re-homed and re-trained as a fantastic therapy dog, providing joy and happiness to countless people by assisting them in overcoming specific problems while enhancing and strengthening their lives and communities.”
Taff and his family were also vital in helping the Paws Off Duty retired police dog charity raise the much-needed funding. During this difficult time, our thoughts are with his family. All of Taff’s well-wishers have wished him eternal rest and stated that Taff’s mission has been completed.
