A man caught on camera wielding a bat and shockingly whacking a homeless person in the head with it reportedly won’t do any jail time.

According to the New York Post, Karim Azizi was offered a sweetheart plea bargain from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
They were unable to find the victim — a 47-year-old homeless man — which factored into the decision.
The victim suffered gruesome injuries to his face and head in the disturbing Nov. 29, 2022 attack in the Sugar Hill neigbhourood.
“After diligent efforts to find (the victim) we were unable,” Assistant District Attorney Heather Manley explained to a judge in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday, according to a transcript of the hearing.
Manley added that Azizi, 36, had no priors and was “willing to take responsibility for his actions.

He had been dealing with the loss of a family member at the time of the attack, she said.
Azizi, who has been free on $7,500 bail, had faced up to seven years behind bars for the assault in which he pulled a bat from his pants and swung it at the victim.
As part of the deal, Azizi pleaded guilty to second- and third-degree assault and must participate in a treatment program for the next 15 months, until his sentencing.

The victim suffered gruesome injuries, including, bleeding from his face and head, swelling on the back of his head, and a cut on the front of his head, prosecutors previously said.
Footage captured Azizi walking away after the beating, before returning and stomping on the victim, cops said.
Law enforcement sources told the Post the pair had an argument before the incident.
