The Cardinals have fired offensive line coach and run game coordinator Sean Kugler following an issue that took place on Sunday night in Mexico City.
Arizona football coach Kliff Kingsbury announced the decision to reporters on Tuesday. Prior to the announcement about Kugler’s release, Kingsbury told reporters that he had not made any changes to his coaching staff.
Currently, details have not surfaced on the nature of the issue that led to Kugler’s firing. The Cardinals and the 49ers were in Mexico City ahead of the two NFC West teams clashing in a Monday Night Football game in which San Francisco defeated Arizona, 38–10.
Kugler, 56, has been on the Cardinals staff since 2019. Prior to his stint in Arizona, Kugler coached with the Broncos, the Steelers, the Bills and the Lions as well as several college coaching jobs.
