The 28-year-old had chased Samuel through the streets of Richmond, South West London, with the blade after a row.

He was found bleeding to death at the side of the road following the horror on July 18 last year.

Wallace has now been jailed for life with a minimum of 24 years after she was convicted of murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

Kingston Crown Court heard the couple had been living together for around six months before the horror.

On the day of the killing, they had rowed in the back garden after taking heroin, cocaine and cannabis, causing Samuel to storm out.

But Wallace grabbed a knife and stalked her partner, who was unaware she was following, through the streets.

Once the law graduate caught up with Samuel, the couple rowed again before Wallace plunged the knife through his chest.

The killer, an Extinction Rebellion activist, was then seen “calmly walking off” as stricken Samuel cried out for help.

Officers later attended her home and discovered a blood-stained cardigan and the knife.

Wallace, who graduated from St. Mary’s University with a law degree in 2017, claimed Samuel had attacked her first with a chopstick but jurors saw through her lies.

Sentencing, Judge Rajeev Shetty said: “In contrast to the people who tried to assist [Mr Mayo], you did nothing and left the scene, allowing him to die and showing a complete lack of remorse that you had stabbed him in the chest.

“He had a life that, like yours, was blighted by heavy drug use, but despite this he was well-liked by his family and was well-known in the local area.”
