Girl, seven, ‘dragged’ into woodland area by man before escaping, as cops release image of ‘suspect’
POLICE are hunting for a man after a seven-year-old girl was taken into the woods by a stranger.
The youngster was taken by the suspect into woodland in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, earlier today.
She was thankfully able to escape before being reunited with her family.
Police have released two images of a man they are hunting for.
Greater Manchester Police tweeted: “Tameside detectives believe the girl was taken by a man on Warne Avenue into woods near the disused railway track towards Manchester Road.
“We have a large number of officers in the area while extensive searches for the suspect take place.
“Please contact us if you know more.”
The first picture shows the man walking along a path, while the second shows him around 30 minutes after the incident heading towards The Snipe in Ashton having removed his jacket.
Cops have urged anyone who has seen the man or with any information to call and quote 2270 of 17/08.
