Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have scored a huge win, with their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan crowned the second most highly-ranked documentary on the platform.

The popularity of the series was revealed in Netflix’s fourth quarter earnings for 2022, with the series Wednesday the platform’s third most popular series ever, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery becoming the fourth most popular film.

The series debuted on December 8, 2022, with Harry and Meghan detailing the behind-the-scenes of their lives before and after leaving the royal family in 2020.

Some of the bombshell allegations from the series include that the palace had leaked stories about Harry and Meghan to the press, that she was made a scapegoat for the royal family, that Prince William yelled at Harry after their royal exit, and more.

The series was released ahead of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare, which was published one month after the docuseries, on January 10, 2023.

Spare also contains never-before-told details of Prince Harry’s life, including a description of a physical altercation between himself and Prince William, his mental health issues and unresolved trauma around his mother, Princess Diana’s death, how he and Meghan really met, and more.

Spare became the fastest-selling non-fiction book in UK history, with 1.4 million units in all formats on the first day of its publication.

The royal family has yet to comment on any of the allegations made in Harry’s memoir and in the Netflix series.

Both the book’s publication and the airing of Harry & Meghan has raised questions over whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be invited to attend King Charles III’s coronation on May 6.

Speaking to Today this week, royal commentator Camilla Tominey said the couple may be invited but are likely to face a hostile response from the family and British public.

“I think there’s a strong chance that they might be booed,” the Telegraph UK associated editor said.

“God forbid they might be egged, as has happened to the King on a couple of occasions since he took the throne.”
