One person suffered a burn injury in a house fire this evening in Highland Park, authorities said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 100 block of West Avenue 44, near Figueroa Street, at around 8:35 p.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the LAFD, who added that the fire was burning in the rear section of the home.
It took 40 firefighters 26 minutes to knock down the flames. Paramedics treated one person for burn injuries, but it was unclear if the victim was taken to a hospital.
No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
