Darren Till has named former super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch as the man he wants to fight in his boxing debut.
The Liverpudlian was recently released by the UFC after suffering five defeats in his last six bouts and now he has ambitions to cross over into boxing.
Till posted a video on social media announcing his new career path, as he said: “I just wanted to do this video as a little announcement just to confirm the rumours. Yes, they are true. I will be boxing.
“There’s been a lot of rumours on who I’m going to be boxing. That will be announced in the next few weeks. I’ll have a really big announcement on that.
“I’ve never turned down a real challenge in my life. I’ve been in the UFC for many years. I’ve fought the best. I’ve beat the best. I’ve been defeated by the best. And that’s it.
“No f***s given going into this boxing with the same mentality. Fight at any weight. Anyone. Anywhere. Doesn’t really matter.
“I’m ready to come into this with a f***ing massive bang and I can’t wait.
“Striking is my bread and butter so I’m supremely confident with whoever I’m going to be fighting. In the next few weeks I’ll have a massive announcement and I’m really looking forward to the future.”
Till is yet to announce who he will fight on his boxing debut, but he has called out British boxing legend Carl Froch.
“I always give it to Carl Froch. And he’s someone who bites a lot. He’s only a b****nd, isn’t he?” Till told IFL TV.
“I’d love to fight Carl. Not saying he’s a s**t boxer or anything, just at this stage now I think I’d punch his head in. I do. I’m gonna get a lot stick for that.
“It’s a money fight in England, especially. He’s a big name in boxing, I’m a big name in MMA.
“I know he’s been out the game for a few years, so I’d love a fight like that. It’s not like he’s not a legitimate boxer, is it?”
