Jalen Green Hosts Thanksgiving Event For Boys & Girls Club

0 107

On Wednesday, Houston Rockets rookie guard Jalen Green got an opportunity to give back to the community by hosting more than 50 teenagers from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

Green partnered with Adidas and Shoe Palace (Galleria) to give away Adidas backpacks, gear, and a pair of sneakers he autographed during the event.

“Houston has shown me love, and I just wanted to show love back,” said Green before the event began. “Giving back to the community has always been a big thing for me.”

The teens in attendance were also provided a meal for their family, courtesy of Turkey Leg Hut. They will also have an opportunity to see the Houston Rockets in action in the future as the team provided game tickets for a home game at Toyota Center.

Green was drafted with the No.2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. He offered advice and encouragement to the attendees as he took pictures and signed paraphernalia after the event.

“Whatever goals you have set for your life, don’t let anyone get in the way of that,” Green said. “Just focus and stay tuned in on what you are trying to achieve in life, and you can do anything you put your mind to.”

The Houston Rockets will be back on their home court on Wednesday to play the visiting Chicago Bulls.
