Michael Buble has explained one of the reasons he loves being in the United Kingdom is because he doesn’t have to worry about being politically correct.

The Canadian singer might live in British Columbia, but previously called Croydon home.

Back in 2011, Michael, 47, purchased a house in Purley which reportedly cost £3 million.

He lived there for a time with his now wife, Luisana Lopilato, with whom he now has four children.

Now, he has said there’s an interesting reason he feels so at home here, and why he loves being back in the country each time he returns.

‘You’re my people. I get to be this, me. I don’t have to pretend,’ he said.

‘I don’t have to be careful or politically correct.

‘You guys are amazing,’ he added when appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs this weekend.

Jokingly giving him a warning after his comments, fellow guest Ed Sheeran told Michael that he did have to be aware of what he said just in case.

Speaking on the show Michael also singled out some other countries he loved performing in.

‘I love Germany. I love the Germans. They’re hilarious. They’re funny people, they’re dry,’ he explained.

Discussing his super fans who have made their love for him clear over the years, including going so far as tattooing his face on their bodies, the singer didn’t seem too put off.

‘It’s a good feeling, it’s kinda cool when someone wants to put you on their skin forever,’ he said.

But when asked which musician he’d consider tattooing on himself, he singled out Lewis Capaldi.

It’s a comment that the Scottish singer might welcome after the pair engaged in some healthy competition over Christmas after Lewis said he had a ‘gripe to grind’.

After Michael’s cover of It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas remained firmly above Lewis’ single, Pointless, in the Christmas charts, Lewis said he needed a word.

However soon after Michael said he had put the song on his own playlist and that Christmas should be ‘cancelled’ if Lewis didn’t make it to number one.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 9.40pm on ITV.
