Police in Nashville released body camera footage from the school shooting that took place at a private Christian school on Monday.
The graphic footage caught the moment officers confronted the shooter, identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, after he shot and killed three students and three adult staff members at the Covenant School.
The massacre began around 10.15am on Monday. Police responded to the private school less than 15 minutes after the first shots were fired.
‘The kids are all locked down, but we have two kids that we don’t know where they are,’ a staff member tells an officer as they approached the school with weapons drawn.
The two Metropolitan Nashville Police officers who shot and killed Hale during the rampage were later identified as Rex Englebert, a four-year veteran of the force, and Michael Collazo, a nine-year veteran.
The officers confronted Hale, who was on the second floor of the building, around 10.27am. After firing, they instructed the shooter to stop moving and step away from his weapons.
Previously released CCTV footage showed the shooter breaking into the building by firing into glass doors.
