Mum’s warning after ‘freak accident’ on escalator
A mum has been left shaken and terrified after her daughter’s foot was nearly injured in a ‘freak accident’ on an escalator.
Olivia Jill took to Facebook to warn other parents to be vigilant after she had to pull her daughter’s foot to safety.
“Today Millie’s Croc got trapped in the side of the escalator half way up,” she explains, sharing frightening images of what was left of the shoe.

“Just a little warning when using an escalator in Crocs,” Olivia wrote on the post.
It seems she and Millie had hopped onto an escalator, though the little girl’s foot got a little too close to the sides.
All of a sudden her Croc sandal began to be munched up by the escalator and Olivia thankfully pounced into action.

“I got her foot out straight away.”
Posting photos of the shoe afterwards, you can see the entire tip of the shoe where the toes usually sit was ripped off.
It had jammed between the steps and the side of the escalator. Many escalators do includes warnings that point out shoes like Crocs can be unsafe on these machines.

Those who came to Olivia and Millie’s help claim it was a “freak accident”.
The mum so taken aback by what could have happened to her daughter, she shared the story online to warn other parents and carers.
“Keep their children away from the sides.”

And parents are incredibly thankful for the warning.
“Wow this is scary, so glad she’s ok,” one commented on the post.
