Princess Diana coronation weather report tweet goes viral amid rain prediction

0 71

It’s predicted to rain on King Charles’ parade Saturday — but a viral tweet has joked that it may be the spirits above that have orchestrated it.

Responding to a tweet from LLC News, which read, “Disappointment for royal fans as rain and storms predicted for the coronation weekend,” user @lewispringle didn’t even need words when he replied.

Instead, he retweeted it with a picture of Princess Diana in that 1995 Martin Bashir interview on the BBC, in which she revealed her then-husband Prince Charles was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles — and she knew all about it.

The tongue-in-cheek picture — suggesting either her spiritual involvement in or pleasure about the forecast — has been retweeted more than 15,500 times with more than 118,000 likes since it was posted May 2.

Twitter users loved the insinuation that the poor weather forecast for Saturday had supernatural involvement from Charles’ late ex-wife Diana.

“It’s a sign,” one person declared.

“Diana will have the last laugh,” agreed another.

“The thought of Diana opening the heavens on Coronation makes me giddy,” laughed another.

The 1995 bombshell interview was the first time Diana had directly named Camilla — the soon-to-be queen — as the “third person” in her marriage.

Diana also claimed the royal family had been unsupportive in her ongoing mental health battles.

The official crowning of King Charles, 74, will take place Saturday with about 2,000 guests filling up the 1,000-year-old Westminster Abbey.

Camilla, 75, will be enthroned alongside him as well, officially becoming queen.

Charles’ mother, long-reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II, died last September at 96.

The ceremony will be helmed by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The palace said Meghan Markle, 41, will not attend the coronation; however, “Spare” author Prince Harry, 38, will go and spend a limited amount of time in London.

Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, will attend with their children, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who reportedly will have special roles at their grandfather’s coronation.
