REPORT: Alleged Victim Says She Was Bribed To Lie About Trey Songz’s Sexual Assault Case

An alleged victim in the sexual assault case filed against famous singer Trey Songz reportedly said she was bribed by an attorney to frame him.

Songz is facing sexual assault charges in a lawsuit filed by a woman named Jauhara Jeffries, who claims she was assaulted during a 2017 New Years Eve party in Miami, TMZ reported Monday. Witness tampering is now being considered in this case after a woman named Mariah Thielen testified that the lawyer acting for Jeffries offered her between $100,000 to 200,000 to lie and say she witnessed the assault, and state that she was victimized by Songz, TMZ reported.

Court transcripts of Thielen’s testimony reveal her allegations that Ariel Mitchell, the attorney for Jeffries, met with her in a bar in Miami in April 2021 smelling like weed and carrying a gun, according to TMZ. Thielsen, who was with Jeffries on the night of the alleged assault,  alleges that Mitchell was willing to pay for her to falsify her statement by saying that she saw what happened to Jeffries and that she was assaulted. She alleges he then indicated he admitted to trying to paint Trey as “the next R.Kelly,” according to TMZ.

Thielen went on to indicate Mitchell had mastered a plan for her to voice her false allegations to Trey’s legal team in the hopes that they would offer her a monetary settlement, according to TMZ.

Court transcripts revealed Thielen claims that she turned down the offer. She reportedly said she wouldn’t have lied for even $10 million, opting instead to inform Trey’s legal team about the offer that was presented to her. (RELATED: Mumford & Sons’ Marcus Mumford Reveals He Was The Victim Of Sexual Abuse As A Child)

Mitchell denied the allegations made against him. “We’re highly confident and certain the court will find the witness committed perjury. Parties are still awaiting the judges’ further instructions on how to proceed given the witness’s inconsistent testimony during the hearing,” he told TMZ.

Mitchell’s partner, George Vrabeck, also withdrew from the case, citing “multiple grounds for withdrawal” that existed under the Florida Rules for Professional Conduct. Mitchell claims he did so because “He will be representing me against the parties involved in this disgraceful motion brought by Trey Songz and his representatives,” according to TMZ.

Mitchell and Vrabeck also reportedly withdrew from a case where they represented a woman that accused Chris Brown of rape in a $20 million lawsuit, according to TMZ.
