olly-Mae Hague has faced online ridicule following a geographical so-called “error” on her latest clothing collection.

The 23-year-old, who is the creative director of PrettyLittleThing, showed her followers a top emblazoned with “Montreal, 1986, USA” on the front.

Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to mock the former Love Island contestant by cheekily informing her Montreal is located in Canada.

Fans were left puzzled by the top which reads “Montreal, USA”

Among the comments, one wrote: “She didn’t use her 24 hours in her high school days for geography.”

PrettyLittleThing said the garment is actually referring to a tiny city – with a population of around 800 – in Wisconsin, USA, called Montreal.

A spokesperson for the brand told The Sun: “There is actually a Montreal in the USA, it’s a City in Wisconsin.”

Ms Hague sparked a huge social media backlash in January after she made controversial comments on wealth and poverty during a podcast.

She provoked fury after a clip resurfaced in which she claimed that “we all have the same 24 hours of the day” regardless of background.

Her comments were branded “tone death” by critics who accused her of ignoring the difficulties faced by people from poorer backgrounds.

Ms Hague apologised to her fans but she said she never posts with malice or ill intent.

She wrote in a statement on Instagram: “I wanted to come back on online today as normal but I feel like before I do I just wanted to say this…
